Prior to joining Any Baby Can, Veronda served as the Commissioner for the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services. Veronda is an accomplished, integrity-driven innovator recognized nationally for her ability to work effectively with diverse people, groups and organizations. She is a decisive, results-driven and compassionate leader with a unique approach to building bridges between staff, businesses and their consumers to improve the lives of those who depend on the services. Her creative approach to problem solving invites collaborative thinking and results. While detail oriented, her ability to also see the big picture has proven critical to those individuals relying on the agency for services.
Active in her church and community she serves on the Board of Directors for United Ways of Texas and the Greater Texas Federal Credit Union. Veronda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Northwestern University, a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Southwest Texas State University, and Mediation Certification from the University of Texas School of Law Center for Dispute Resolution.
